Applicability Criteria: Calorie labelling is mandatory for businesses and franchises that meet the following conditions:
- Employ more than 250 employees on the first day of the financial year.
- For franchise agreements limited to alcohol provision, with franchisees having freedom in food choices, exemption applies.
Scope of Application: This requirement applies to:
- Businesses offering food for immediate consumption on-site, such as cafés or restaurants.
- Food not categorized as pre-packaged, offered for sale by a business for off-premises consumption (i.e., takeaway).
- Food that does not require consumer preparation before consumption.
